Legionella Risk Assessment
The authority on Legionella control and prevention is the UK Health and Safety Executive's "Legionnaires’ Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems - Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L8)"
Carrying out a Legionella Risk Assessment is the first stage in preventing Legionnaires’ Disease and Legionellosis on your premises. The objective is to identify all systems that could present a risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria. These include:
- Hot & Cold Water systems
- Cooling Water systems
- Spa Pools
- Any other system containing water in which Legionella could grow and be released in aerosol droplets
Each system must have its own Legionella Risk Assessment, which must be carried out by trained personnel who are competent to do so.
Our risk assessors use a unique risk matrix scoring system to help identify those factors which increase risk, so you can see at a glance where you need to prioritise your remedial actions and what you have to do to comply with the regulations.
The resulting report is comprehensive yet concise and can be used as an effective management tool to reduce risk and monitor improvement.
