The legislation controlling the prevention of Legionnaires Disease, (L8) has been modified to cover any business premises, or work activity, where a trade or business occurs where water is used or stored.
L8 states that a forseeable risk of exposure to legionella bacteria exist in systems containing:
- a cooling tower
- evaporative condenser
- any system likely to exceed 20°C and which may release a spray,
- AND hot and cold water systems (para 18/19)
